Self Propulsion Dynometer

     DSC_2712 - CopyDSC_3038

The ship model is self-propelled by means of the self-propulsion dynamo meter and motor. The propeller is fitted to the shaft by means of a transducer with which thrust and torque can be measured. This transducer is located outside the first bearing in order to prevent influence from bearing friction to the measurements. The rotational speed is determined via rotary encoder. For twin propeller model, the propeller shafts can be driven by either one motor via gearbox or independently by two separate motors and gearboxes.
