Introduction Course to Mooring by DNV GL Deepwater Technology Centre to UTM

Have you ever wondered how do those floating structures like the offshore drilling units and FPSOs stay in position?

The Maritime Technology Center @ UTM and the DNV GL Deepwater Technology Center are pleased to present the Introduction Course to Mooring seminar to UTM students.

The seminar introduced students to the various underwater systems that are supporting these huge floating structures. Real life, innovating and challenging projects were shared with the students to further illustrate the mooring operations and challenges faced by the industry.
This seminar has been initiated and delivered by the DNV GL Deepwater Technology Center. The engineers shared their knowledge in mooring, their working experience and the career opportunities within DNV GL Group.

Since the early 1970s, DNV GL has supplied the industry with a full range of services and competence related to offshore developments. Pushing into the new energy frontiers poses greater challenges and DNV GL is prepared to continuously support the industry as a technology leader. To strengthen this leadership position in Asia Pacific, DNV GL’s Deepwater Technology Centre (DTC) was established in January 2012 and is already firmly established as a sustainable centre of competence to support the industry in its offshore E&P challenges, by providing high-end advisory and technical assurance services, covering Floating Systems, SURF and Drilling and Wells. Additionally, DTC is acting as an innovation power-house, with several ongoing R&D projects developed jointly with the industry and the academia.
